Focus Areas: making connections through interpretive resources and environmental education, community science & conservation
The Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area, Inc. is a non-profit organization in support of the Capital Springs Recreation Area.
The Friends purpose is to support, assist and promote the Wisconsin DNR and Dane County Parks with interpretive, scientific, historical, educational and related visitor services at Capital Springs State Park and Recreation Area.
The Friends objectives are to sponsor and support volunteer interpretive services and environmental education activities, seminars, lectures, and other activities that contribute to the interpretive and educational programs of the park, including interpretive materials for the Park. The Friends also provide financial support to the Park in furtherance of its interpretive programs, facilities and resources through membership fees, donations, sales and special events.
The Friends also work to improve through stewardship and conservation all units of the Capital Springs Recreation Area, including William G. Lunney Lake Farm County Park, Jenni & Kyle Preserve, Lewis Nine Springs E-Way, the Madison Metropolitan Sewerage District Wildlife Observation Area, Capital Springs Centennial State Park and other units of the Recreation Area.
The Friends connects with individuals, families, and business partners throughout the community.

Throughout the years, the Friends of Capital Springs State Recreation Area have made significant and generous contributions to the Park.
A few examples include new interpretive signage at the Wildlife Observation Area Boardwalk, pollinator and prairie plant guides, nature walks, youth group activities, community science projects, a BioBlitz, Master Naturalist Training, Harvest Moon Festival, many land stewardship days, and much more.
We appreciate your support and interest in the Friends of Capital Springs Recreation Area.
